APC Stakeholders Adopt Consensus as Babatunde Emerges Ondo Chairman
A consensus arrangement embraced by stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Tuesday produced Hon. Kolawole Babatunde as the new State Chairman of the ruling party.
Babatunde, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Akoko South West/Akoko South East Federal Constituency, emerged unopposed alongside other members of the state executive at the party’s congress held at The International Culture and Event Centre (The DOME), Akure.
Party sources said the exercise followed a unanimous decision by stakeholders to adopt a consensus mode of selection. The newly constituted executive council was subsequently affirmed by delegates through a voice vote at the venue.
Also elected into the new leadership was the party’s former Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, who emerged as State Secretary.
Babatunde currently serves as Special Adviser on Legislative Matters and Party Affairs to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was present at the congress.
