Comedian Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Alleged Gunshot Injury During Skit Filming
Popular Nigerian comedian Broda Shaggi has been hospitalised after reportedly sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge, where the comedian was shooting a skit alongside members of his production crew.
A police source said Broda Shaggi was injured during the filming, although the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. He was immediately rushed to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State for initial treatment.
Due to the nature of the injury, he was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, where he is currently receiving further care and recovering.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that the hospital alerted authorities after a gunshot victim was brought to the facility. Officers who responded reportedly found the injured comedian on a stretcher with a wound to his thigh.
Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi stated that the incident occurred in Sango-Ota, which falls outside the command’s jurisdiction, but noted that investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command said the case has not yet been officially reported to them.
