Dignitaries, Culture, and Colour as Chief William & Onome Atagana Tie the Knot in Obiaruku
Obiaruku, a serene suburb of Abraka and host community to the Delta State University, came alive in a rich display of culture, glamour, and tradition as Chief William Atagana and his wife, Onome Atagana, celebrated their beautiful traditional marriage ceremony.
The historic event attracted an impressive array of high-profile dignitaries, political leaders, captains of industry, and cultural icons, all gathered to honour the couple and bear witness to a union deeply rooted in tradition and shared values.
The ceremony, marked by elegance and pageantry, showcased the vibrant cultural heritage of Delta State, with guests adorned in stunning traditional attires representing the Urhobo, Itsekiri, and Ijaw ethnic nationalities. The colourful fabrics, coral beads, head ties, walking sticks, and regal accessories added grandeur and authenticity to the occasion, turning the venue into a living gallery of Niger Delta culture.
Chairing the event were Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan and his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, whose presence added prestige and national significance to the celebration. Also in attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, among other senior government officials.
The business community was equally well represented, with notable personalities such as Mr. Eniye Aruwei Charles, Managing Director of Enixsco Ultimate Ventures Limited, alongside other industry leaders and influencers. The media space was led by Mr. Fawumi Kayode Abiodun, Publisher of Ekocity Magazine, who was present to document and curate exclusive moments from the ceremony. Popular entertainment and lifestyle figures, including J. Money, also graced the occasion, adding to the event’s eclectic mix.
