Elegushi of Ikate Land Visits Giwa Gardens with Royal Family and King’s Men, Explores Africa’s Largest Water Park

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Ifawuyi Elegushi, Kusenla III, the Elegushi of Ikate Land, on Friday, 2nd January 2026, paid a royal visit to Giwa Gardens, Africa’s largest water park, accompanied by his children and distinguished members of his royal council.
The visit was both recreational and symbolic, reflecting the monarch’s commitment to family bonding, youth-friendly spaces, and inclusive leisure infrastructure within Lagos State. Kabiyesi was joined by notable chiefs of the Ikate Kingdom, including the Aro of Ikate Kingdom, Chief Lekan Bakare, and the Olowa of Ikate Kingdom, Chief Salisu Oluwadare Elegushi, who formed part of the royal entourage.
The royal party was warmly received by the owner of Giwa Gardens, Keji Giwa, who personally led Kabiyesi and his team on a comprehensive tour of the expansive facility, highlighting its world-class infrastructure and safety standards.
While the monarch and his chiefs explored the park, the royal children delighted in the park’s extensive range of attractions, enjoying extreme water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, aqua play towers, splash zones for children, water coasters, and family recreational pools, offering entertainment for all age groups.
Giwa Gardens continues to distinguish itself not only as Africa’s largest water park but also as a symbol of inclusivity. The facility is thoughtfully designed for all Nigerians—from the top 1% of the 1% seeking premium leisure experiences to low-income earners, ensuring that quality recreation remains accessible to everyone.
In furtherance of this inclusive vision, over 100,000 free entry tickets were distributed online during the 2025 holiday season, through partnerships with the Lagos State Government, Access Bank, and the Detty Fusion platform on Stream, enabling thousands of families to enjoy the park during the festive period.
The royal visit underscores the harmony between tradition, modern entertainment, and social inclusion in Lagos’ evolving leisure landscape. Giwa Gardens stands as a testament to what is possible when innovation, culture, and community welfare intersect.
