Governor Sanwo-Olu Graces Lagos Food Festival at Muri Okunola Park
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, 14 December 2025, attended the vibrant Lagos Food Festival held at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, reaffirming the state’s commitment to promoting food culture, tourism, and the creative economy.
The festival brought together chefs, food entrepreneurs, music artistes, and fun lovers in a colourful celebration of Lagos’ diverse culinary heritage. Governor Sanwo-Olu was warmly received by attendees as he toured the festival grounds, interacted with vendors, and sampled a variety of local and contemporary delicacies.
Speaking at the event, the Governor emphasized the importance of food as a key driver of tourism, job creation, and cultural identity, noting that Lagos continues to position itself as a global destination for lifestyle and experiential tourism.
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, was also present, highlighting the role of food systems in economic growth and the administration’s ongoing support for agribusinesses and culinary entrepreneurs across the state.
The Lagos Food Festival once again proved to be a dynamic platform celebrating innovation, culture, and the unmistakable spirit of Lagos.
