Kano Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Resigns Amid Impeachment Moves
The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam, has stepped down from his position.
His resignation was confirmed in a statement issued by the Kwankwasiyya Movement and signed by its spokesperson, Habibu Mohammed. According to the statement, the decision was made in the interest of the people and to preserve stability in the state’s governance.
The development follows earlier actions by the Kano State House of Assembly, which had begun impeachment proceedings against Abdussalam. He had been served with a notice of impeachment over allegations bordering on breach of trust, abuse of office, and gross misconduct.
