Multiple Explosions Rock Maiduguri, Trigger Panic Among Residents

Residents of Maiduguri were thrown into panic on Monday evening after multiple explosions were reported across several parts of the city.

The blasts, suspected to have been caused by improvised explosive devices planted by fighters linked to Boko Haram, occurred around 7 p.m., shortly after Muslims broke their fast, heightening fear and confusion among residents.

Areas affected include the gate of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, the bustling Monday Market Roundabout, and the Elkanemi area, all of which are key locations within the city.

As of the time of reporting, authorities have yet to confirm whether there were casualties or the extent of damage caused by the explosions.

The incident comes just hours after suspected terrorists reportedly attacked a military position in Ajilari, where parts of the facility were set ablaze and a military patrol vehicle was allegedly taken.

Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement, leaving residents anxious as they await clarity on the situation and further updates from authorities.
