Ojelabi Secures Second Term as Lagos APC Chairman
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Cornelius Ojelabi, has been re-elected for a second term, following a consensus decision by party stakeholders at the state congress.
Ojelabi, a pastor and former Commissioner for Rural Development in Lagos State, was returned unopposed during the congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. Party sources indicated that leaders of the state chapter agreed ahead of the exercise to adopt a consensus arrangement, paving the way for his continuation in office.
The congress drew the attendance of prominent APC stalwarts, including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode; as well as members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and other party leaders.
Ojelabi’s re-election is seen by party insiders as a vote of confidence in his leadership and stewardship of the party’s affairs in the state over the past term.
Confirming the development, the Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Wale Ajetunmobi, announced the outcome in a post on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the Lagos APC had returned Ojelabi as chairman for another term at the state congress held in Onikan.
With his renewed mandate, Ojelabi is expected to continue steering the affairs of the ruling party in Lagos as it consolidates its structures and prepares for future political engagements.
