Police Deploy Tactical Assets Nationwide Ahead of Eid-el-Fitr
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered a nationwide deployment of tactical assets and personnel ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, as part of efforts to ensure a safe and secure festive period.
The directive tasks Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders across all states and the Federal Capital Territory to implement comprehensive security measures, including the strategic deployment of intelligence operatives and specialised units.
Under the plan, the police will position members of the Special Intervention Squad alongside conventional personnel at Eid prayer grounds and critical infrastructure. Security presence will also be intensified along highways, motor parks, recreational centres, and other public spaces to maintain order and public safety during the celebrations.
