Senior Police Officer Frank Mba Retires After 34 Years of Service
Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Frank Mba, has voluntarily retired from the Nigeria Police Force after 34 years of service.
Mba, who until his retirement served as the Coordinating Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the South-East geopolitical zone, confirmed that he stepped down after reaching the statutory retirement threshold following more than three decades in the force.
Throughout his career, Mba held several key positions within the Nigeria Police Force and played prominent roles in the institution’s public communication and operational coordination. He is widely known for his time as the Force Public Relations Officer, where he served as the official voice of the police, regularly addressing the public and the media on security developments, policing policies and national safety concerns.
During his tenure as police spokesperson, Mba gained national recognition for his media engagements and crisis communication, representing the force during critical moments in Nigeria’s security landscape. He was also credited with strengthening the police’s public communication approach and improving engagement between the force and the public.
Beyond his role in public relations, Mba served in various operational and administrative capacities across different departments of the police, where he contributed to policy coordination, strategic planning and operational oversight.
Police authorities have acknowledged his retirement as the close of a long and distinguished career marked by leadership responsibilities and service across multiple units of the force.
Mba joined the Nigeria Police Force in the early 1990s and rose steadily through the ranks to become one of the institution’s senior officers before opting for voluntary retirement.
