Sokoto Village Gripped by Fear After Bandits Abduct Six Residents
Residents of Gazau village were thrown into panic in the early hours of Monday when armed bandits invaded the community, abducting six people during a ноч raid.
The attackers reportedly stormed homes around 1:00 a.m., initially taking 13 residents, most of them women. After moving them to a nearby forest, some victims were released following interrogation, while six others were held back and remain in captivity.
Those still being held—men and women—are believed to be in the bandits’ hideout, as fear spreads across the village. Residents say the attackers issued threats of continued daily raids unless the community seeks some form of amnesty.
Efforts to get an official response were unsuccessful, with both the Isa Local Government authorities and the Sokoto State Police Command reportedly unreachable at the time of reporting.
