Wale Adenuga Dismisses Papa Ajasco ‘Broke’ Claims, Calls Allegations Misleading
Filmmaker and CEO of Wale Adenuga Productions (WAP), Wale Adenuga, has responded to viral claims by veteran actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, describing the assertions of financial hardship as misleading.
Adenuga said his response was not driven by malice but by a commitment to truth, transparency, and the protection of a legacy that has entertained millions of Nigerians over the years.
Providing context, he noted that Ayoyinka had a long-standing career as a civil servant with the Lagos State Government, spanning over three decades, and was also a prominent figure in the state’s cultural troupe. According to him, the actor’s role in public service brought him into contact with notable figures, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his tenure as governor of Lagos State.
The WAP boss further stressed that the production company has consistently supported its actors, dismissing claims that Ayoyinka is homeless. He revealed that the company had provided him with a car in the past—similar to other cast members—and that he had used multiple vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz, over the years. Adenuga also stated that, to his knowledge, the actor owns a house in Ogun State.
Addressing concerns around brand restrictions, Adenuga explained that limitations on the use of the “Papa Ajasco” name for personal ventures are necessary to preserve its integrity. He, however, clarified that actors are not barred from taking on external opportunities, including advertising roles, provided they obtain approval from the company as part of its brand protection policy.
