The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun preparations for its national convention, with the process set to commence with congresses starting on Monday.
The party’s National Working Committee (NWC), in collaboration with APC governors, has approved the timetable for the convention, detailing activities that will culminate in the national convention scheduled for March 2026.
The process officially kicked off with a nationwide electronic membership registration exercise held from December 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026.
According to the timetable, ward congresses will take place on February 18, 2026, followed by local government congresses on February 20. State congresses are slated for March 7, while zonal congresses will be held on March 21, 2026.
The national convention is scheduled to hold from March 25 to March 28, 2026, during which new party leaders will be elected at all levels, from the ward to the national leadership.
The APC says the process is aimed at ensuring transparency, inclusiveness, and internal democracy within the party.
