Renewed Bandit Raids in Kaduna Leave 14 Abducted, Several Injured
Fresh attacks by armed bandits have struck communities in Kaduna State, leaving at least 14 residents abducted and several others nursing gunshot wounds.
The coordinated assaults took place over two days — March 2 and 3, 2026 — in villages within Kajuru Local Government Area. Residents of Kallah and Bauda communities reported that heavily armed gunmen stormed their settlements, shooting sporadically to create panic before whisking victims away into nearby forests.
Local sources confirmed that 14 people were taken during the raids, while at least three others sustained gunshot injuries. The injured victims were rushed to medical facilities for urgent treatment as security operatives launched efforts to track the attackers and secure the release of those kidnapped.
The incidents come amid earlier reports of separate abductions in other parts of the state. In Azara community, Kachia Local Government Area, six worshippers were reportedly kidnapped from a mosque, with their captors said to have demanded ransom.
The latest wave of violence underscores the persistent security challenges facing parts of northern Nigeria, where rural communities continue to grapple with banditry, kidnappings and armed incursions despite ongoing operations by security agencies and local vigilance groups.
