Reps Approve $516m Deutsche Bank Facility for Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway Project
The House of Representatives has approved a $516,333,007 syndicated financing facility from Deutsche Bank AG for the construction of the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway.
The approval followed a request by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, conveyed in a letter read on the floor by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen.
The proposed 1,000-kilometre high-capacity highway is set to link Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos states, stretching from Illela in Sokoto State to Badagry.
The project is expected to strengthen connectivity between the North-West and South-West, creating a major economic corridor while reducing logistics costs and improving trade and food security across the regions.
