Makinde Meets Peter Obi in Ibadan as Coalition Talks Ahead of 2027 Gather Momentum
Seyi Makinde has held a closed-door meeting with Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party Nigeria, in Ibadan.
Obi arrived at the Governor’s Office in Agodi alongside a delegation, in a visit that comes just days after a coalition summit held in the Oyo State capital.
Speaking after the meeting, the former Anambra State governor said the engagement is part of ongoing consultations on how a proposed political coalition could take over power in 2027 and improve governance across the country.
He added that the coalition is focused on building a system where merit drives leadership and opportunity is accessible to all Nigerians, with a broader vision of shifting the country from a consumption-driven economy to a production-based one.
