Troops Arrest Deputy to Notorious Bandit Leader in Gombe

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected deputy to a notorious bandit leader, known as “Pakapaka,” alongside his wife, following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

Security sources revealed that the suspects are linked to the network of wanted bandit kingpin Kachalla Auta. They were tracked across forest hideouts in Plateau State before being apprehended in Gombe State.

The arrest forms part of ongoing military operations aimed at dismantling armed groups responsible for kidnappings and violent attacks across parts of north-central and northeastern Nigeria.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in criminal activities. Intelligence obtained from the operation is also expected to support further crackdowns on the network.

The military has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on armed groups, urging residents to continue providing timely and credible information to aid security efforts.
