Ayra Starr Takes Afrobeats to NFL International Halftime Stage in London
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has made history after becoming the first African artist to headline a halftime show at a National Football League (NFL) International Game.
The Afrobeats star performed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, October 11, during the halftime break of the NFL clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 24-year-old singer thrilled spectators with performances of her songs, including Heaven Baby and her global hit Rush, showcasing Nigerian music to thousands of fans at the international sporting event.
Her performance was part of the NFL’s 2026 International Games programme, which features musical acts across seven countries and four continents as the league continues to expand its global reach.

Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, was announced as the headline performer in August. She has continued to gain international recognition through her music, appearances at major festivals and award nominations.
Her latest achievement adds to the growing visibility of Nigerian music on the global stage, with Afrobeats artists increasingly featuring at major international entertainment and sporting events.
While the singer commanded the halftime spotlight, the game ended in a dramatic 19-17 victory for Jacksonville. Kicker Cam Little secured the win with a 57-yard field goal with just one second remaining on the clock.
