THE OKONKWO PORTFOLIO

The Okonkwo Portfolio

The Okonkwo Portfolio

From houses to electric cars, energy, hospitality and investment, Kennedy Okonkwo is building a business ecosystem that is increasingly larger than real estate.

There is a point in an entrepreneur’s career when a company stops being just a company. It becomes an ecosystem. That appears to be the direction of Kennedy Okonkwo, the founder and Group Managing Director of Nedcomoaks Group.

For almost two decades, Okonkwo has built his reputation primarily through property development. But the business he leads today is considerably broader: real estate, construction, property management, hospitality, water, energy, electric mobility, charging infrastructure, investment and entrepreneurship development.

The official Nedcomoaks portfolio currently identifies a collection of brands and subsidiaries spanning these sectors.

The Foundation: Nedcomoaks

Everything begins with Nedcomoaks. Founded in 2007, the company grew from Okonkwo’s early property-development ventures into a substantial housing and construction business. The group says it has delivered more than 10,000 homes and currently has more than 1,700 homes under development across its projects.

The early strategy was straightforward: build quality homes, make them accessible to a broader market and create investment opportunities around them. That philosophy produced the company’s most visible real-estate brand.

Victoria Crest Homes

Victoria Crest Homes has become one of the group’s best-known residential brands. The company describes its proposition as “affordable luxury” and says it has created more than 10,000 homes in Lagos over two decades. Ichechi Okonkwo serves as its CEO, while Kennedy Okonkwo remains Group Managing Director.

The brand’s significance is not merely the number of houses.

It is the attempt to combine property ownership with an aspirational lifestyle — security, infrastructure, recreation, power and community.

Dream Court

Long before the current generation of large estates, Okonkwo was developing projects under the Dream Court name.

The portfolio includes earlier Dream Court developments and the newer Dream Court Investment & Property Development platform, which positions itself around property investment, development, portfolio management and investor services.

This represents another evolution in the business. Nedcomoaks is not only building properties. It is increasingly trying to build investment products around property.

Capital Gardens

At Eleko, the group has pursued a different idea. Capital Gardens Estate was conceived as a sustainable residential community, incorporating green spaces, clean-energy solutions and community facilities. Earlier project descriptions placed the development on a 40-hectare master plan in Ibeju-Lekki.

This is where Okonkwo’s real-estate strategy begins to intersect with his energy ambitions.

Citadel Estate & Utilities

The Citadel platform takes that idea further. The group identifies Citadel Estates & Utilities, Citadel Utilities and Citadel Power within its portfolio. Citadel Power is focused on clean-energy solutions, EV charging and smart power appliances.

The significance is that the developer increasingly wants to control not just the house — but some of the infrastructure surrounding the house.

EV Automobiles

Then came perhaps the most disruptive diversification. EV Automobiles is a Nedcomoaks subsidiary focused on electric vehicles, fleet solutions and charging infrastructure. Its public company profile describes it as a sustainable-mobility business.

In 2026, EV Automobiles partnered with ReTrust Microfinance Bank, alongside Citadel Power and Citadel Estates, on a financing model intended to make electric vehicles more accessible to Nigerians.

That is an important development. The company is not approaching EVs simply as automobiles. It is connecting:

Cars + charging + energy + finance + real estate.

That is an ecosystem.

Ned Waters

Water is another piece of the portfolio. Ned Waters is positioned as a provider of clean and reliable water solutions for homes, estates and businesses.

For a property group, the logic is obvious: water infrastructure is fundamental to functioning communities.

DCFM

Dream Court Facility Management — DCFM — provides property and facility-management services, including security coordination, cleaning, landscaping, maintenance and vendor management.

It addresses a problem often ignored after a property is sold:

Who keeps the community working?

HOTELS BY NED

The portfolio also extends into hospitality. Hotels By Ned, located in Ojoto, Anambra State, describes itself as a hospitality and leisure business founded in 2023, with Kennedy Okonkwo identified as founder.

This gives the group an interest beyond where people live — into where they stay, relax and entertain.

LaundryKing

Even seemingly ordinary household services appear in the portfolio. LaundryKing Laundromat provides wash-and-fold laundry services and is listed among Nedcomoaks’ brands.

It may appear unrelated to real estate. But within a residential ecosystem, it begins to make sense.

KOPETECH

The group’s entrepreneurial ambitions extend into business development through KOPETECH, described by Nedcomoaks as an accelerator designed to support first-time Nigerian entrepreneurs with resources, mentorship and networks.

That is a different kind of investment:

investing in people who may build the next businesses.

CREATE Academy

The group also lists CREATE Academy among its brands, positioned around creative development, practical training and mentorship.

Dream Estate Lekki

Dream Estate Lekki is another property-focused brand within the portfolio, positioned around real-estate consulting and access to premium properties.

Taken together, these businesses reveal something more interesting than a list of companies. They reveal a strategy.

The Bigger Idea

Kennedy Okonkwo’s portfolio increasingly resembles a vertically connected urban ecosystem.

Real estate provides the physical environment.

Facility management keeps it functioning.

Water supports the communities.

Energy powers them.

EV Automobiles provides cleaner mobility.

Charging infrastructure connects transportation to energy.

Finance can help customers acquire assets.

Hospitality extends the lifestyle proposition.

Entrepreneurship platforms invest in people.

That is why describing Okonkwo simply as a real-estate developer no longer tells the whole story. He is increasingly positioning Nedcomoaks around a broader question:

What does the Nigerian city of the future need?

Housing.

Power.

Mobility.

Water.

Infrastructure.

Finance.

Services.

Community.

The strategy is ambitious, and ambitious portfolios inevitably carry execution risks. Diversification can create scale, but it can also stretch management attention and capital. Yet the direction is unmistakable.

From the first homes in Lagos to thousands of properties, sustainable estates, electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and hospitality, the Okonkwo business story has evolved from building houses to building an ecosystem around how people live.

And that is why Nedcomoaks Group — and the portfolio surrounding Kennedy Okonkwo — is Ekocity’s Brand of the Week.

Not because it owns the biggest portfolio. But because it is attempting to connect some of the biggest needs of Nigeria’s next urban generation.
