NAF Airstrikes Kill Several Terrorists in Sambisa Forest
The Nigerian Air Force has carried out airstrikes on terrorist positions in Sambisa Forest, killing several fighters in ongoing counterinsurgency operations in north-eastern Nigeria.
Military sources said the strikes formed part of intensified aerial missions aimed at dismantling remaining hideouts of insurgent groups operating in the region.
Sambisa Forest, long regarded as a stronghold for extremist elements, has remained a key focus of military operations as security forces work to deny militants safe havens and disrupt their logistics networks.
Officials added that the latest operation also targeted suspected supply routes and encampments used for coordination and regrouping by the armed groups.
The Air Force has recently increased coordinated air and ground offensives as part of broader efforts to weaken insurgent capabilities and support stabilization in affected communities.
