Lagos Targets Nearly $1 Trillion Economy by 2052
Lagos State is targeting an economy valued at nearly $1 trillion by 2052, with plans to attract investment, expand infrastructure and strengthen its position as a major economic and financial hub in Africa.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the state government was committed to implementing the Lagos State Development Plan 2052, a long-term framework aimed at driving sustainable economic growth and enhancing Lagos’ global competitiveness.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Wednesday at the Lagos Executive Business Breakfast Meeting, organised by the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) in Lekki, Lagos. The meeting was held under the theme, “The Future of Lagos: Business, Investment and Global Competitiveness.”
According to the governor, the development plan comprises 447 initiatives spanning 21 strategic sectors, structured around four key pillars: a thriving economy, a human-centred city, modern infrastructure and effective governance.
