Saheed Bankole Extends Royal Visits Across Eti-Osa Ahead of 2027 Assembly Campaign
The Eti-Osa Constituency I aspirant has visited the palaces of traditional rulers in Sangotedo, Ajah, Ogombo and Ajiran Land as part of his engagements with traditional institutions ahead of his planned ward-to-ward campaign.
Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole has continued his engagements with traditional institutions across Eti-Osa Constituency I, Lagos State, visiting the palaces of monarchs in Sangotedo, Ajah, Ogombo and Ajiran Land ahead of his planned ward-to-ward campaign for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat.
The visits reflect an outreach to traditional leadership and community institutions as political activities begin to build ahead of the 2027 elections.
During the visits, Bankole paid homage to HRM Oba Olufunmi of Sangotedo and HRM Oba Olumegbon of Ajah Land, seeking royal blessings and acknowledging the roles of traditional rulers in preserving cultural heritage, promoting community cohesion and sustaining dialogue within their domains.
The delegation also visited the palace of HRM Oba Abiodun Ogunbo, the Ogudu Oshodi of Ogombo Kingdom, in continuation of the engagement with traditional institutions across the constituency.
According to information provided by SAB Media, the monarchs offered prayers and blessings during the visits. The engagements highlighted the cultural significance of palace visits in Yoruba society, where traditional institutions remain important centres of heritage, identity and community affairs.
Visit to Ajiran Kingdom
Bankole’s royal outreach continued with a visit to the palace of HRM Oba Tijani Akinloye Ojomu, the Alajiran of Ajiran Kingdom.
The delegation was received by High Chief Nurudeen Odofin, the Odofin of Ajiran Land, who led the welcome on behalf of the palace. The monarch was unavoidably absent at the time of the visit.
The Ajiran engagement extended the series of palace visits through which the aspirant has acknowledged the traditional institutions serving communities within Eti-Osa.

Traditional Institutions and Grassroots Engagement
The visits bring traditional leadership into focus as political stakeholders prepare for the next electoral cycle in Lagos State.
Across communities in Eti-Osa, traditional rulers occupy important cultural positions and serve as custodians of local customs and heritage. Engagements with palace institutions can provide opportunities for dialogue on community concerns, development priorities and peaceful political participation.
For political aspirants, such visits also represent an opportunity to establish relationships with community stakeholders before embarking on broader grassroots engagements.
However, palace visits and royal prayers should not automatically be interpreted as formal political endorsements. Their electoral significance will depend on a range of factors, including voters’ assessments of candidates, their policy proposals, public records and engagement with residents.
As Bankole prepares for his planned ward-to-ward campaign, his visits to Sangotedo, Ajah, Ogombo and Ajiran Land form part of his outreach to traditional institutions across Eti-Osa Constituency I.
The coming months will provide further opportunities for candidates to engage residents on representation, infrastructure, community development and other issues affecting the constituency.
